Elena Krawzow is a visually impaired swimmer from Germany. She was born with a genetic disease called Leber's congenital amaurosis, which causes vision loss from an early age. Krawzow is legally blind and has no central vision, with limited peripheral vision. Despite her disability, Krawzow has been competing in swimming since the age of six and holds multiple world records in various events. She was also the first visually impaired person to represent Germany at the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. Krawzow is considered one of the top swimmers in her classification and is expected to be a medal contender at the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021.
